Get out of Starbucks and into Citizen Space!

Let me give you some history. I use to work with a VERY small company and we literally sat in this person's kitchen while testing out their products. It was very "entrepreneurial" Then I joined another company in the midst of the recession and yeah we had an office but a foldable table was also there along with about as much space for a fax/copier/scanner that sat precariously ontop of a two drawer file cabinet. It was there I realized that maybe Starbucks isn't a bad place after all. Yet, I did know someone who hung out in the back of a large starbucks and did work virtually. It was because this person didn't like his housemate and well...let's just say Starbucks had more than coffee to offer.

I found out about Citizen Space courtesy of Google Offers and that is pretty cool but considering how expensive office space is here Citizen Space is awesome too.

So here is the low down and seriously do all your clothes smell like coffee...stop going to starbucks.

Citizen Space is a coworking space in San Francisco, and San Jose. The SF space is located at 425 Second St on the ground floor. It is generally open from 10am – 6pm weekdays. The San Jose space is at 12 South 1st Street, on the Third floor in suite 318.
The idea of Citizen Space is to take the best elements of a coffee shop (social, energetic, creative) and the best elements of a workspace (productive, functional) and combine them to give indie workers the chance to have their own, affordable space. Citizen Space was built on the coworking philosophy. Our residents (past and present) range from: startups, software engineers, web developers, social media consultants/strategists, graphic designers, product designers, public relations specialists, and sustainable web hosting entrepreneurs.
Day-tripping and casual guests can visit for a small fee of $8 an hour, and $20 a day, but you must follow our ground rulez and be a good neighbor. If you want to leave your stuff, we rent out desks $400-425/month. We also holdvarious events at our and classes space and are happy to consider making our facilities available for event hosting.
If this sounds interesting to you, drop us a note or join either the Citizen Space mailing list (sign up in the footer) or Coworking Group. Or just drop by!
