Christmas In July : KQED

One of my beloved television stations became my beloved radio stations when I got to be an adult because I only had basic cable and so the radio was my outlet when I didn't want the big screen tv.

Now KQED is a lot of things to a lot of people but, mostly information.

So why I will donate or volunteer for KQED can get information from them.

One of the recent more pivotal topics is Homelessness.

Here is a copy of their newsletter ..if anything you will be more informed

The Politics of Homelessness
Wednesday, June 29, 2016
Live from 6-7pm on KQED 88.5 FM

Ask any San Francisco resident, business owner or visitor what the city's biggest problem is and a common answer is "homelessness." And, more people are reporting living on the edge of homelessness — in cars and on couches — or a paycheck away from losing shelter.

Panhandling, tent cities on streets and under highways, people passed out on sidewalks, street people with mental illness — it's all there, in good times and bad. We spend hundreds of millions of dollars a year and yet, no matter what politicians do or say, the problem doesn't go away. In the latest effort, a group of San Francisco supervisors wants to give the city the power to clear out tent encampments, as long as they offer the homeless an alternative place to sleep.

Join KQED's Scott Shafer and guests, live, as they explore the political forces that make homelessness such an intractable problem and discuss what needs to change for real progress to happen: Wednesday, June 29, at 6pm on KQED 88.5 FM.
